I grew up in a "Christian" Gnostic cul... ahm I mean community (actually more of a commune even). Of course there are just so many different Gnostic sects nowadays - but what they all have in common is their deep and passionate hatred and disdain for mainstream Christianity and for Jehovah.

They hate God - they hate him so much and they really think they themselves are God and Christ. And they hate God's creation. God loves the world, they hate the world and have nothing but disdain for our entire physical existence.

They may or may not openly worship Lucifer whom they regard as a good and godly entity and savior. They may or may not believe themselves to actually BE Lucifer, but in any case they aspire to be like him and believe he (and by extension they themselves) are so much better than the "foolish" "Demiurge" Jehovah.

They claim the name Lucifer wouldn't be in the Bible, but I disagree and so Isiah 14 comes to my mind and I feel it fits perfectly:

"How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’

Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, To the lowest depths of the Pit. Those who see you will gaze at you, And consider you, saying: ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble, Who shook kingdoms, Who made the world as a wilderness And destroyed its cities, Who did not open the house of his prisoners?" "You have destroyed your land And slain your people."

So I agree, Lucifer is not Satan, but neither is he a god or savior, he is just a man who is so arrogant that he rules with an iron fist and has no regard for his fellow humans and even sees himself as God. In other words, he is precisely THEM.
